Vintage

Vintage bags!

I love vintage things. They've been and seen things, things that is part of their story, a story that I become a part of once I put the bag over my shoulder.

Vintage things ... they remind me of the worn door knob that has felt the warmth of so many people's hands ... like a grandma's linen apron that has old stains, like the forgotten music box.

A treat for today.

The Sky Looked Like This

This is the sky on July 3rd, when my tiny town celebrated America's birthday a day earlier.

And this is the sky I saw two days ago.

"Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, tree clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery – celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not where you take things from – it’s where you take them to”.

~Jim Jarmusch’s 5th Rule of Directing.
